For dog groomers

Booking software for dog groomers

PayDash is booking and payment software for dog groomers, mobile and salon. Owners book a real slot and pay a deposit to hold it; each dog's breed, weight, vaccination status and behaviour notes sit on the client record; and reminders go out by text and email. Invoices apply GST, and your website — with booking built in — is free.

What costs groomers the most

No-shows and late cancellations

A full groom is 90 minutes or more, plus the drive for a mobile groomer. One missed appointment is most of a morning you can't resell.

The coat you didn't see coming

You quoted a bath and brush; the dog arrives matted to the skin. Now it's a de-matting job or a shave-down, and an awkward conversation at pickup.

Bookings scattered across DMs

Instagram, texts and voicemails, each with a different half of the details — breed, age, when the last groom was, whether they're okay with nail trims.

Chasing payment after the groom

An e-transfer that arrives tomorrow, or doesn't, is time spent chasing instead of grooming.

How PayDash fits a grooming business

Deposits at booking

A fixed amount or percentage per service, paid by card to confirm. Unpaid holds release themselves.

Every dog on file

Pet name, breed, weight, vaccination status and behaviour or special-needs notes on each client.

Coat photos before you price

Ask for a photo of the coat — or the vaccination record — at booking, with your own questions.

Reminders that send themselves

A confirmation, a reminder the day before, and a two-hour text. CASL opt-in handled.

GST invoices, paid on the spot

Tax for your province, your GST number, and a pay-now link. 3.3% + $0.90 per Canadian card.

A website with booking

Services, before-and-after photos, reviews and hours, with a Book button on every service. Free.

Mobile vans and salons

Mobile groomers set buffer time between appointments so the calendar leaves room to drive, and a minimum notice so nobody books the next slot while you're mid-groom across town. Salons add their groomers as staff; owners can pick who they book with, or bookings are assigned automatically.

Both can list each coat type as its own service — a doodle full groom priced and timed differently from a smooth-coat groom — so the calendar blocks the right amount of time.

What PayDash doesn't do

PayDash doesn't plan the route between appointments, and each client record holds one dog's details — a second dog in the household goes in the notes. If route planning is the centre of your day, a grooming-specific app may fit better; see our comparison of grooming software.

Questions groomers ask

Does PayDash work for a one-person mobile groomer?

Yes. Most of what's here was built for solo operators: deposits, reminders and invoicing from your phone, from $19 CAD a month after a 30-day free trial.

How do deposits work for grooming appointments?

You set a deposit per service, as a fixed amount or a percentage. The owner pays it by card when they book, and the slot is held while they pay. Your cancellation policy is shown before they confirm.

Can I see a dog's coat before I quote?

Yes. Turn on photo upload for a service and add your own questions, like when the last groom was. Owners add photos while they book.

Can I keep vaccination records?

Each client has a vaccination status field, and owners can upload a photo of the vaccination record with their booking.

What if an owner has two dogs?

They can book more than one service in a visit. The client record holds one dog's details; add the second dog in the client notes.

Does it charge GST?

Yes. Tax is applied for your province automatically — 5% GST in Alberta — with your GST number on every invoice.
